We are looking for a passionate, motivated and creative individual who is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of young people. As an Engagement Officer, you will play a key role in inspiring and supporting the people living in our accommodation to grow in confidence, develop independence and actively engage with opportunities both within YMCA Dulverton Group and the wider community.

You will be someone who genuinely believes in young people and their potential, with the ability to build professional, positive and trusting relationships that encourage participation, personal development and meaningful progression. You will work collaboratively with residents to co‑design and deliver engaging activities that support learning, wellbeing and enjoyment.

This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, alongside the ability to remain calm, patient and supportive when working with individuals who may present with complex or challenging behaviours. You should be confident working both independently and as part of a wider team, with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your time effectively across multiple sites.

We are looking for someone who is proactive, adaptable and able to take initiative, with a creative approach to developing opportunities that reflect the interests and needs of the young people we support. Experience of working with young people or within a supported housing or community setting is essential, along with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

You will share our organisational values – respecting individuals, communicating openly, showing commitment and care in your work, and finding innovative ways to support young people to thrive.

Due to the nature of the role, there will be a requirement to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, and to travel between sites. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children, young people and adults at risk; therefore, this role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.

If you are ready to inspire, engage and create meaningful opportunities for young people, we would love to hear from you.

At YMCA Dulverton Group, we are not just a charity; we are a dynamic and vibrant local community committed to fostering supportive, inclusive and empowering environments. Our mission is to cultivate communities where young people can authentically belong, actively contribute and truly thrive.
