Training & Education Manager (Maternity Cover)
Based: Key College, Derby
Salary: £27,862 – £31,065 PA
Hours: 35hrs per week
(9‑month Maternity cover February 2026 – October 2026)
Are you an ambitious and passionate leader with a strong commitment to post 16 education and learner success? YMCA Derbyshire Key College is seeking a dynamic Training and Education Centre Manager (Maternity Cover) to lead our vibrant post 16 provision, a vital role at the forefront of empowering young people through inclusive, high‑quality learning. You will play a key part in shaping the learner experience, building strong relationships with staff, students and external partners, and driving high standards in teaching, outcomes and pastoral support.
In this pivotal role, you will be at the heart of our centre, supporting some of the most vulnerable young people in our community, those at greatest risk of becoming NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training). Your leadership will be instrumental in creating a safe, supportive and aspirational environment where learners can re‑engage with education, overcome barriers and realise their potential.

Requirements
- Appropriate qualification (e.g., TAQA, Cert Ed) or equivalent experience in a relevant sector.
- Knowledge and understanding of post 16 education.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the requirements linked with Ofsted and awarding bodies.
- A driving licence and use of own car is essential as there will be an expectation to work across numerous sites.
