We have been at the heart of the community in Derbyshire since 1847. While the scope of our work has changed considerably over the years, our vision hasn’t. Every year, we support over 300 individuals in our housing provision, enabling them to grow their confidence and move into education, training, employment and into independent living. Alongside this we provide a whole host of youth and community services including our own community gardens. We also provide training and education to 150 young people each year who find mainstream education more difficult, as well as high-quality childcare within our community.

Position:
Learner Support (12-month maternity cover)
Based: All Key College sites
Salary: £13759.20pa
Hours: 21hrs per week

As a Learner Support , you\’ll be working directly with learners aged 16 and over—many of whom are navigating personal challenges, educational barriers, or simply in need of someone to believe in them.

Key College as part of YMCA Derbyshire is striving to support young people within our community learn new skills for later life and achieve accredited qualifications through the programmes we run.
We are seeking a creative thinker with a ‘can-do’ attitude and an ability and passion for educating young people.
This fast-paced and varied role gives an individual the chance to make a real impact on the success of the learners that we support. This role will focus on supporting our young people at our new green hub provision this year with access to a community garden, workspaces and construction spaces to develop our learners skills around construction, and practical work-based skills.
Requirements:
A driving license and use of own car is essential as there will be an expectation to work across numerous sites.
