Every year, we support over 300 individuals in our housing provision, enabling them to grow their confidence and move into education, training, employment and into independent living. Alongside this we provide a whole host of youth and community services including our own community gardens. We also provide training and education to 150 young people each year who find mainstream education more difficult, as well as high-quality childcare within our community.

Head of Marketing and Fundraising
Based: London Road, Derby

An opportunity has arisen to lead our well-established marketing, and fundraising function to make a real difference to the lives of those YMCA Derbyshire group serve.
This is an exciting opportunity at a time of expansion for YMCA Derbyshire, a charity that has been supporting young people and communities since 1847.As an organisation, we believe in fairness and opportunity, and focus on the following key areas of work:
• Housing ; providing 212 bed spaces each night for individuals at risk of homelessness.
• Training and Education; through YMCA Key College we provide pathways to accredited and non-accredited vocational training, adult education programmes and employment opportunities.
• Support, Advice, Health and Wellbeing; providing a whole host of community services, youth programmes, mental health support, horticulture opportunities, food provision and access to warm spaces.
• Family and Youth Work including nurseries, family support, and school-based initiatives. All of which positively impact individuals, fosters resilience and progression toward independence, regardless of past experiences or present circumstances.
The post-holder will be instrumental in driving the growth of the Income Generation team, develop, create and implement strategies, produce innovative marketing campaigns that maximise awareness of our charities and will be a key catalyst in continuing to develop a strong supporter base and be the lead on the achievement of YMCA Derbyshire\’s fundraising and sales targets.
The YMCA is an historical and iconic brand, but although most people have heard of the YMCA very few are aware of the breadth of our work. Clear, emotive communications and fundraising messages will be vital to the success of our fundraising, marketing, communication and sales strategies and the development of our YMCA.
The role will work closely with our Director of Development, Executive team, and Heads of Services to continue to build awareness in our local community whilst at the same time, increasing supporter donations, engagement, and brand awareness.
We seek someone with excellent communication and organisational skills, is a team player and a strong influencer and networker.
