Hours: 17.5hrs per week Monday - Wednesday

YMCA Derbyshire is seeking an inspiring English Tutor to deliver Functional Skills and GCSE English to our post-16 Key College learners. In this rewarding role, you’ll work closely with those who need support the most – young people facing real barriers to education – and empower them to achieve qualifications that can transform their lives. Responsibilities
  • Deliver Functional Skills and GCSE English to post-16 Key College learners.
  • Work closely with learners facing real barriers to education to support them in achieving qualifications that can transform their lives.
  • Engage with learners, build relationships, and foster a supportive learning environment.
Requirements
  • A driving licence and ability to use own car, as there may be an expectation to work across numerous sites.
  • Strong safeguarding awareness with commitment to safeguarding learners.
  • Required safeguarding checks including references and enhanced DBS check, with a six‑month probationary period.
  • Passion for helping young people and a ‘can‑do’ attitude.
  • Ability to influence others to use our services.
