YMCA Derbyshire is seeking an inspiring English Tutor to deliver Functional Skills and GCSE English to our post-16 Key College learners. In this rewarding role, you’ll work closely with those who need support the most – young people facing real barriers to education – and empower them to achieve qualifications that can transform their lives. Responsibilities- Deliver Functional Skills and GCSE English to post-16 Key College learners.
- Work closely with learners facing real barriers to education to support them in achieving qualifications that can transform their lives.
- Engage with learners, build relationships, and foster a supportive learning environment.
- A driving licence and ability to use own car, as there may be an expectation to work across numerous sites.
- Strong safeguarding awareness with commitment to safeguarding learners.
- Required safeguarding checks including references and enhanced DBS check, with a six‑month probationary period.
- Passion for helping young people and a ‘can‑do’ attitude.
- Ability to influence others to use our services.
- 25 days holiday (pro rata) as standard with an extra 2 days after 5 years of service
