The predicted salary is between 30000 - 42000 Β£ per year.

To provide support services to young carers across the Vale of Glamorgan and Cardiff in partnership with other statutory and voluntary organisations. This will include youth clubs, respite activities, 1-2-1 support sessions, workshops, training, and learning to address carers\’ needs, as well as working with colleagues to maximize outcomes for young carers. There will also be an element of recruiting and supporting volunteers.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To provide support to young carers in collaboration with statutory and voluntary organisations.
  • To support and advise young carers through group programmes, activities, and one-to-one mentoring sessions.
  • To help young carers develop social skills and increase self-confidence.
  • To organize respite activities for young carers.
  • To empower young carers to identify their needs and develop appropriate support systems.
  • To involve young carers in decision-making and planning of relevant facilities and activities.
  • To monitor and evaluate progress using appropriate tools.
  • To maintain accurate records and statistical data for evaluation purposes.
  • To recruit and support volunteers assisting with transport, youth clubs, and other activities.
  • To attend staff meetings and relevant external meetings.
  • To participate in training as agreed with the line manager.
  • To adhere to organisational policies and procedures.
  • To respect the Christian ethos of the YMCA and uphold its values.
  • To perform other duties as deemed appropriate by management, including covering roles in absence.
