YMCA Warwick are seeking an enthusiastic Pool Lifeguard on a Casual Basis to join our team located in Warwick. Are you passionate about water safety, fitness, and making a difference in your community? The Y is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Pool Lifeguards to join our team! As a lifeguard, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone who enters our pools, while contributing to an active and supportive environment.

About the role

As a Pool Lifeguard, you will supervise all users of the YMCA aquatics area and facilities. Pool Lifeguards will ensure a safe aquatic area by professionally supervising the pool, identifying potential risk factors and taking steps to reduce those risks, being positive role models, lifesaving and administering first aid as required, and providing excellent customer service.

What will my time look like?

  • Enforce all aquatic facility rules and guidelines to ensure patrons are not put at risk unnecessarily and are protected from unruly behaviour and dangerous actions.
  • Administer First Aid/CPR to patrons, if required.
  • Report and document any incidents or risks that occur you have witnessed across the facility.
  • Completion of all associated administration tasks, reporting and follow-up.
  • Answer patrons’ general enquiries and support them to feel safe and welcome.
  • Conduct rostered pool tests and pool maintenance activities to ensure full compliance with legislative requirements and Health Department Regulations.
