YMCA Stafford are recruiting an enthusiastic and committed Assistant Gymnastics Coach on a Casual basis to join our team located in Stafford.

About the role:

As an Assistant Gymnastics Coach, you will be always supervised by a qualified gymnastics coach while you build your skills towards coaching classes independently. You will be responsible for spotting athletes as they perform on various apparatus, while observing our athletes prepare for competition, choreographing routines and selecting music for floor exercises.

What will my time look like?

  • Assisting with set-up of gymnastics equipment and commencement of the class.
  • Check that all activities have adequate matting which is correctly/safely set out.
  • Ensure all rolls are marked and accounts, notices and newsletters are given out accordingly.
  • Ensure that if an accident happens all safety procedures are adhered to and an accident report form filled out.

Am I a good match?

  • Demonstrated knowledge and practice experience in all aspects of gymnastics.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificates, or willingness to obtain them.
  • Positive Notice Blue Card, or willingness to obtain.
  • National Police Check within 6 months, or willingness to obtain.
  • Be working towards your Beginners Gymnastics Accreditation or be willing to undertake your accreditation through the Y.
