Plant-Based Health Professionals UK (PBHP UK) is a Community Interest Company dedicated to providing education, advocacy and interventions on whole food plant-based nutrition and lifestyle medicine for prevention and treatment of chronic disease and for supporting planetary health. In addition to practicing conventional medicine, we are passionate about promoting health and well-being using a plant-based, lifestyle approach. There is no doubt that conventional medicine has resulted in some astonishing advances in patient care. However, the current model of healthcare in the UK focuses primarily on treating established disease, rather than emphasising interventions that could prevent or reduce the burden of chronic disease.We hope to provide a valuable resource for the education of healthcare professionals and the general public alike and aim to empower individuals to take control of their own health and share this information with patients, friends and their families. About The Role
Specifically, the Plant-Based Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine Educator will:
- Deliver high-quality education on plant-based nutrition to medical students, doctors and nurses.
- Recruit, support and deliver the International Board of Lifestyle Medicine (IBLM) certification programme.
- Represent PBHP UK in the Lifestyle Medicine Global Alliance, amplifying the UK’s role in this global movement.
- Develop and deliver innovative educational opportunities and resources for IBLM candidates and alumni.
- Curate and organise nutrition and lifestyle medicine content for PBHP UK conferences and events, including the Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine Conference.
- Develop resources to support the delivery of medical and nursing education, including lectures, handouts and written content.
- Support the wider team in delivering evidence-based education on nutrition and lifestyle medicine
This is a UK based remote role.
Accountabilities
- Drive the delivery of education in medical schools, GPs and GP training programmes and nurses, ensuring a high-quality experience for learners
- Create and maintain inspiring educational resources that will support PBHP UK’s education outputs
- Collaborate with the wider education team to align and expand PBHP UK’s education portfolio
- Work with the communications and social media managers to promote plant-based nutrition and lifestyle medicine education programmes
- Lead the growth and delivery of the IBLM certification programme, ensuring an excellent experience for candidates from application through to alumni support
- Build and sustain a thriving community of lifestyle medicine learners and practitioners
- Represent PBHP UK in international conversations on plant-based nutrition and lifestyle medicine, sharing UK perspectives and learning from global peers
- Curate thought-provoking and impactful conference and event content on lifestyle medicine and plant-based nutrition
- Maintain and develop PBHP UK’s 21-Day Plant-Based Health Challenge as an engaging entry point to lifestyle medicine
- Monitoring and evaluation of education delivery
- Stay at the forefront of lifestyle medicine research and practice through CPD, conferences and self-directed learning
- Actively participate in monthly team meetings, quarterly in-person meetings and PBHP UK’s wider events
- Support achievement of wider organisational aims and objectives
- To undertake any other reasonable duties required to meet the needs of the organisation
Knowledge / skills / experience
Essential
- Deep knowledge of plant-based nutrition and lifestyle medicine, with confidence to represent PBHP UK at national and international levels.
- Qualified healthcare professional (doctor, dietitian, nutritionist or nurse)
- Bachelors level degree in a health related field
- Experience developing and delivering educational programmes or resources.
- Excellent leadership, organisational and project management skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to inspire and influence healthcare professionals and learners.
- A collaborative approach and commitment to PBHP UK’s mission and values.
- Ability to attend team days (quarterly), events etc in London
- Right To Work in the UK
Desirable
- Training or qualification in medical / nutrition education
- Ability to deliver hands‑on culinary training in-person and online
- Previous experience working in healthcare, education or a mission‑driven organisation.
- Lifestyle medicine certification from the International Board of Lifestyle Medicine or willingness to achieve this qualification in the first year of the role.
- Familiarity with lifestyle medicine networks, including the Lifestyle Medicine Global Alliance.
- Experience designing or curating conference or event content.
- Previous experience working in healthcare, education or a mission‑driven organisation.
