About the position

We are looking for a Child Contact Centre Manager to join our team and provide opportunities for families to maintain relationships even when they do not live together. We facilitate supervised, supported and handover family time both in our centres and in the community. As part of the role, you will work within the Contact Centre ensuring a professionally run and managed service is offered to local families. As manager, you will be running and looking to develop the Contact Centre and line managing and supporting a team of practitioners.

This role will involve:

  • Organising supervisee records and assessing family time with an awareness of safeguarding
  • To rota and line manage practitioners and volunteers to ensure the service is safe, efficient and of high quality
  • To develop and maintain relationships with families, local authorities, social workers, solicitors and other professionals and service users whilst ensuring contact demands are met

  • A minimum qualification of NVQ level 4 children and families related or equivalent (essential)
  • Previous management experience (essential)
  • Experience of working with families (essential)
  • Driving licence and access to a car (essential)
  • Safeguarding level 3 or equivalent (essential)
  • A child centred approach to family work (desirable)
  • The ability to support families by signposting to other agencies and services (desirable)

Additional information:

The role has a statutory, occupational requirement to ensure the safety and welfare of all children, young people and adults at risk that they may come across using our services. The post holder will take responsibility for ensuring safeguarding children, young people and adults at risk as a priority and follow both YMCA Bournemouth safeguarding policy and BCP Safeguarding Children Partnership and Dorset Safeguarding Children Partnership statutory guidance. Employment will be subject to satisfactory references, right to work checks and a Disclosure and Barring Service check. If the role involves regulated activity with children or adults at risk, your employment will be subject to an Enhanced level DBS check prior to commencement date. All other applicable roles will be subject to a Basic level DBS check prior to commencement date.
