We are looking for a Catering Manager to take the reins in our camp kitchen! This is a sole charge role where the main focus will be preparing meals for our school groups – catering to dietary requirements, helping us to ensure that all of our guests have an amazing camp experience!

What will you be doing?

  • Prepare and submit menus and accompanying budget no later than 2 weeks ahead of booking date to the Centre Manager for approval
  • Preparing meals for campers based on a pre-planned menu and schedule
  • Discussing catering needs with organisers to plan out their meals prior to attending camp
  • Catering to dietary requirements e.g. gluten free, dairy free, vegan
  • Maintaining a clean & tidy kitchen and help to clean the camp
  • Stocktake, maintaining stock levels, coordinate the purchase of all food items and kitchen supplies (to approved budget)
  • Ensuring a food control plan is maintained
  • Co-ordinating with others to ensure customer & kitchen needs are met

While this is a sole charge role, our instructional team are around at meal times to lend a hand during the school holidays, as well as parents and teachers during the term camps.

What experience/skills do you need?

  • Confident in cooking simple healthy meals
  • Knowledge of special dietary requirements for example allergies and intolerances
  • Excellent communication skills & a positive can-do attitude
  • The ability to roll up their sleeves and help keep the work space and camp clean & tidy
  • Physically active, happy to be on their feet all day & lift/move stock around
  • A Current Food Hygiene Certificate would be advantageous
  • The ability to stay ahead of tasks by being organised and being prepared
  • A basic understanding of technology such as emails, excel and catering websites is advantageous
