The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

Location: Regional based - Gloucester, Bristol, Bath, Swindon and Oxford, although some travel, both in the UK and overseas, may be required.

Reporting to: Area Supervisor

Basic salary of £39,740 + £4,128 South Weighting, on call payment up to £2,000 pa. Overtime available at management discretion up to 12 hours per week. Certification payments for GasSafe £1500 pa, 18th Edition £1000 pa and HV Switching £1000 pa (increasing after 12 months certification).

As a pioneer of Landfill Gas to Energy (LFG) projects, we have a strong track record in the development of power generation projects both in the UK and overseas and we are now diversifying our operations into flexible reserve generation, energy storage, behind the meter generation and other technologies. This expansion aims to establish us as a leader in these emergent markets in the coming years.

We develop a diverse range of energy projects, including Landfill Gas Generation, Flare Systems, Embedded Gas Generation, BESS, Combined Heat & Power systems, Client-side Behind the Meter power generation, Solar/PV arrays and more, in the UK and overseas.

Department Objectives

  • To maximise electrical production and reduce operational costs by taking responsibility (where this is economically beneficial) for the operation and maintenance of as much plant and equipment as possible.
  • To ensure the operation and maintenance of all operational generator sets, plant, PV, energy storage, heat transfer equipment and gas systems to achieve maximum safe electrical output.
  • The aim of the Company is to develop a successful, sustainable and profitable business based on gas utilisation, PV, Heat, Energy storage.
  • The company is looking for clean, safe and well-run sites, which exceed performance targets and provide comprehensive records.

Key Tasks

  • Utilisation and compliance of the company’s operations and maintenance procedures, manuals, record keeping and stock control systems.
  • Execution of all generator maintenance and the use of Operations staff to undertake minor maintenance on generators as required by the management.
  • Maintenance and repair of all mechanical, PV, storage, heat and electrical plant, including pumps and motors at all facilities.
  • Maintenance and inspection of LV electrical equipment subject to training and competency.
  • Operation of HV switchgear subject to training and competency.
  • Commissioning of new build associated equipment.
  • Incorporation of new sites into Operations.
  • Repair and maintenance of generators.
  • Training, support and supervision of Operations Technicians to undertake minor maintenance and simple fault finding.
  • Provide 24-hour emergency call out cover to respond to generator set failures when necessary.
  • Ordering and cost control of spares and control of stock.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner with customer engagement and delivering clean, well-run sites at all times.
  • Contractor supervision.
  • Implementation of HSQE systems.
  • Commitment to training to enhance knowledge and skill in regard to environmental protection and materials.
  • Compliance and implementation of company environmental protection procedures with a proactive approach to maintaining, monitoring, reporting and auditing, and updating company systems.
  • Conduct air emissions monitoring.
  • Compilation and completion of outstanding works raised by site audits.
  • Ensure company vehicles in your care are clean, maintained to manufacturer’s specification and in keeping with policy.
  • Deal directly with environmental spillages using pollution prevention equipment and materials.
  • Any reasonable task required by the management in the exercising of its goals.

Knowledge/Experience

  • Extensive knowledge and experience of Electrical, Heat and Mechanical maintenance.
  • Recognised level in an Electrical skill or relevant experience in the field.
  • Experience with electric control systems 12v DC – 415v AC 30ø Fault location, diagnosis and rectification.
  • Gassafe accreditation or ability to complete within probation.
  • Electrical qualification or ability to complete 18th edition within probation.
  • Experience working with Natural Gas Peaker Plants, CHP, PV, Energy Storage, HVAC systems is advantageous.
  • Computer literate.
  • Hold full UK drivers licence.
