The predicted salary is between 48000 - 60000 £ per year.

Location: Regional based in the Midlands/South, although some travel, both in the UK and overseas, may be required.

Reporting to: Area Supervisor

Staff reporting directly: None

Basic salary of £57,000, on call payment of up to £2,000 pa. Overtime available at management discretion of up to 12 hours per week. Certification payments for GasSafe £1500 pa, 18th Edition £1000 pa and HV Switching £1000 pa (increasing after 12 months certification).

As a pioneer of Landfill Gas to Energy (LFG) projects, we have a strong track record in the development of power generation projects both in the UK and overseas, and we are now diversifying our operations into flexible reserve generation, energy storage, behind the meter generation and other technologies. This expansion aims to establish us as a leader in these emergent markets in the coming years.

We develop a diverse range of energy projects, including Landfill Gas Generation, Flare Systems, Embedded Gas Generation, BESS, Combined Heat & Power systems, Client-side Behind the Meter power generation, Solar/PV arrays and more, in the UK and overseas. As part of our ambitious plans, we are expanding our workforce and have a number of vacancies available.

Main responsibilities:

  • Replace worn components as required (due to wear, failure, schedule), e.g. cylinder heads, piston/liner packs, turbochargers, exhaust and induction systems, oil pumps, and intercoolers.
  • Lead the overhaul of reciprocating generating assets.
  • Day to day maintenance and operation including but not limited to; fault location, diagnosis, and rectification.
  • Planned maintenance delivery and breakdown response for generation assets, with minimum outages.
  • Seek guidance and advice from the Engineering and Management team in anything you are unsure of.
  • Avoid unnecessary expenditure by using skills and tools available within the company.
  • Listing and ordering the correct components, gaskets and incidentals for scheduled overhaul and repairs.
  • Ensuring a stock of essential spare parts is replenished and available should there be a breakdown and/or unscheduled overhaul required.
  • A commitment to Health, Safety Quality and Environmental practices following all procedures and using your own judgement.
  • Reducing the company’s reliance on contractors wherever this is economically prudent.
  • Compliance and implementation of legislation and company protection procedures with a proactive approach to maintaining, monitoring, reporting and auditing.
  • A commitment to continuous enhancement of skills and knowledge, and that of the team members working with you.
  • Managing your time and travel effectively, staying away from home when appropriate.

Key tasks:

  • Utilisation and compliance of the company’s operations and maintenance procedures, manuals, record keeping and stock control systems.
  • Execution of all generator maintenance and the use of Operations staff to undertake minor maintenance on generators as required by the management.
  • Maintenance and repair of all mechanical and electrical plant, including pumps and motors at all facilities.
  • Recommissioning of overhauled assets and associated equipment.
  • Conduct air emissions monitoring.
  • Training, support and supervision of area staff to undertake maintenance and simple fault finding.
  • Provide emergency call out cover to respond to generation asset failure/outage.
  • Ordering and cost control of spares and stock management.
  • Maintenance and inspection of LV electrical equipment (subject to training and competency).
  • Operation of HV switchgear (subject to training and competency).
  • Representing the company in a good light by maintaining clean, well run sites, engaging with customers and the general public.
  • Contractor supervision.
  • Implementation of HSQE systems.
  • Compliance and implementation of company environmental protection procedures with a proactive approach to response, maintaining, monitoring, reporting and auditing, and updating company systems.
  • Responsible for compilation and completion of outstanding works.
  • Any reasonable task required by the management in the exercising of its goals.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Extensive experience with leading the overhaul of reciprocating generating asset in a field service environment.
  • Knowledge of MWM/CATCG/MTU equipment.
  • Familiar with Electrical, Heat and Mechanical maintenance.
  • Fault location, diagnosis and rectification.

Desirable:

  • GasSafe accreditation (or ability to complete accreditation within probation).
  • Electrical skill or relevant experience in the field.
  • Familiar with electric control systems 12v DC – 415v AC 30ø.
  • Computer literate.
  • Hold full UK drivers licence.
