About YLD

Everything we do is to empower our clients to move forward. Our purpose is to help our clients develop the capabilities they need to outperform their competitors. Our success is a consequence of ensuring our clients are successful. Our company is built on extraordinary people; we aim to attract, inspire, develop and retain them. YLD is a software engineering and design consultancy; we create digital capabilities for our clients that last beyond our engagement. We have offices in London, Lisbon, Porto.

About you

You’re the kind of person who notices when something's off in a spreadsheet and fixes it before anyone else has spotted it. You care about the details because you know they're what makes an experience feel considered rather than chaotic. But you’re not just a process person. You genuinely care about our people’s experience at work. You’re the one who makes a new joiner feel welcomed, who remembers someone’s first week is always a little overwhelming, and who thinks carefully about what it feels like to work at YLD - not just what the checklist says. You have 1-3 years of People Operations experience and you’re ready to take on more. You’re curious about automation and AI, you’ve probably already tried to make your own processes more efficient, and you’re excited to work in a team that thinks about HR the same way a product team thinks about their users.

About the role

We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented People Operations Coordinator to join our team of 5 (2 in the UK and 3 in Portugal). This role will play a key part in helping us prepare for growth as we scale, with a strong focus on People Operations and the opportunity to lead and support projects across the full employee lifecycle.

  • People Operations
    • Be the go-to person for day-to-day People queries on the UK side - the reliable, friendly first port of call
    • Own the accuracy and integrity of our HR data and documentation - contracts, right-to-work checks, compliance, and everything in between
    • Manage employee lifecycle events end to end, from generating contracts to offboarding
    • Maintain and improve our HR tech stack, using automation and AI to remove friction where you can
    • Partner with Finance to keep UK payroll running smoothly
    • Manage and administrate UK employee benefits and act as the liaison with providers
  • Employee Experience
    • Own and streamline onboarding and offboarding, ensuring our mentors (managers) are equipped to deliver a positive experience
    • Be a community enabler for our London office and support our London Culture Connectors group in bringing our people together - socials, office, all the small things that matter.
    • Keep our internal Notion space sharp - accurate, well-organised, and easy to navigate for everyone from a new starter to a senior leader
    • Make the London office a place people genuinely want to come to - well-stocked, organised, welcoming, and running smoothly

You should apply if you are:

  • You have 1-3 years of People Operations experience and strong People skills
  • You like variety. No two weeks look the same, and that energises rather than drains you
  • You stay across employment law and compliance - not because you have to, but because you care about getting it right
  • You want to be part of a small, progressive People team that genuinely treats People as a product.
  • You’re excited about automation, AI and using systems to drive efficiency and impact
  • You’re detail-focused, highly organised, and enjoy keeping the machine running smoothly

This role is not for you if:

  • You don’t enjoy detail-heavy work. Contracts, right-to-work checks, and precise documentation are critical for this role
  • You want a lively office with lots of in-person time. Whilst you would be in our office (near Kings Cross) 2–3 days a week, most of the team is remote
  • You’re not interested in the employment law side of people. We’re a T-shaped team, and we need someone who already has/wants to build skills in employment law.
  • You prefer predictability. We’re growing and pivoting, adaptability is key

Your first 3 months will focus on:

  • Supporting in optimising our new HRIS - HiBob. Working together with the team to improve workflows and design employee experience.
  • Leading a full review and update of internal policies and Notion pages
  • Supporting the People Partners and Business Team in building a scalable onboarding programme

Benefits you'll receive:

  • Company Private Health care (currently provided by Vitality)
  • Enhanced fully paid maternity and paternity leave for up to 6 months
  • 25 days annual holiday (excluding Public Holidays)
  • £2000 annual allowance for Training/Conferences
  • £300 annual allowance for additional hardware
  • Mental Health support: access to Oli app
  • Professional coaching support: access via Oli app
  • Bonus (depending on Company performance and results)
  • Company laptop

Our typical recruitment process:

  • 1st Screening with Talent team
  • 2nd Interview with our Senior People Partner (45 mins)
  • 3rd stage task-based interview with our Senior People Partner, our Head of People and an internal stakeholder

We live and breathe our values, and know you will too:

  • Growing every day
  • Including everyone
  • Relationships built on honesty and ethics

We’re an equal‑opportunity employer and value diversity of all kinds. We don’t discriminate based on race, religion, colour, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, pregnancy or maternity, age, marital status, or disability status. We also offer a remote‑first working environment, meaning that flexible working and work‑life balance come as standard for all employees.
