What you’ll do
As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll be part of a client team building innovative products. You’ll be curious, passionate, driven, and enthusiastic. You’ll be proficient at problem-solving, and crafting scalable, resilient, and fault-tolerant architectures. You’ll be an effective communicator and a team player. You and your team will operate in a fast-paced engineering environment, delivering outstanding results and exciting projects.
You as a YLD Software Engineering Consultant is a highly-skilled developer who exemplifies the highest standard in software engineering and enjoys sharing knowledge with others. You’ll be a senior Go engineer who translates problems into technology-powered solutions. You’ll build and deliver software across interesting projects in terms of product and methodology. We work in an Agile environment (Scrum) with a test-first mindset. We are advocates of pair programming and nothing is released without a code review. You have a real passion for problem-solving, you are an active learner and enjoy collaborating with others.
Responsibilities
- Crafting excellent products: build new features that meet client needs.
- Collaborate with your team on engineering initiatives to continually improve.
- Learn, grow, and mentor the engineering team to accelerate career growth.
- Be responsible for the production operation and monitoring of products in line with SLAs.
- Drive good practices within your team.
- Participate in regular show-and-tell sessions, promoting your work within the department and the wider company.
Technical competencies
- Strong experience with Go; a language-agnostic mindset is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms.
- Proven experience building custom SaaS applications and robust APIs.
- Experience developing or integrating decentralised systems, data infrastructure, or distributed technologies.
- Deep understanding of modern deployment pipelines, including Docker, containers, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Flux.
- Comfortable leveraging AI tools to improve code quality, accelerate delivery, and enhance workflows.
- Familiarity with Red Panda and multi-cloud deployment environments is a plus.
