The Opportunity
Established carpentry & joinery contractor in Woking is looking for a commercially capable Estimator who can take real ownership of the pre-construction function with involvement in the wider commercial process. This role isn't just take-offs and sending quotes. You will be heavily involved in pricing, commercial input, and supporting project delivery through to final account where required.
The Role
- Pricing carpentry & joinery packages (residential & commercial)
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documents
- Producing detailed take-offs and cost breakdowns
- Subcontractor & supplier enquiries
- Value engineering input
- Supporting valuations and variations where required
- Working closely with Directors on commercial strategy
This is ideal for someone currently working as:
- Estimator within a carpentry or joinery contractor
- Estimator within a fit-out subcontractor managing carpentry packages
- QS / Estimator looking for a more commercially rounded role
What They’re Looking For
- Strong estimating experience within carpentry, joinery or fit-out
- Good understanding of labour outputs and package pricing
- Comfortable handling commercial discussions
- Able to support basic QS functions (variations, cost tracking, valuations)
