Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with VAT, Tax, and other regulatory requirements under Bangladesh law. Reconcile VAT returns with accounting records to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Prepare and file monthly VAT returns, annual income tax returns, and other NBR filings.
- Ensure timely deduction and deposit of Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) and VAT Deducted at Source (VDS) as per National Board of Revenue (NBR) rules and ensure proper record-keeping for VAT, TDS, and VDS transactions in an organized manner.
- Prepare necessary schedules, documents, and reconciliations for VAT and tax audits.
- Assist line supervisor in tax planning and reducing tax burden within legal frameworks.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of VAT & Tax changes in Bangladesh regulations.
- Support the Finance & Accounts team in audits, assessments, and regulatory hearings. Prepare and maintain proper tax records and documentation for audits and reporting.
- Assist in internal and external audits by providing accurate financial data and supporting documents
Additional duties
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management, such as preparing feasibility reports or handling special projects.
- Handle VAT and Customs office matters.
- Any other task assigned by the department manager.
