This is an exciting opportunity for a Communications & Engagement Officer to join our Communications, Engagement and Marketing (CEM) team. It's a great time to join us. We're continuing to evolve how we communicate, engage and listen across the organisation, creating meaningful experiences that connect colleagues, customers and stakeholders with our values, purpose and priorities.
Whether that's delivering engaging campaigns, supporting leaders to communicate with confidence or helping bring a colleague conference to life, you'll play a key role in shaping how people experience YHG. We're looking for a brilliant communicator and relationship-builder who loves creating engaging content, thrives on working with people and isn't afraid to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in.
You'll be primarily homebased within the North West, with frequent travel across our sites and communities, as well as to our Head Office at Youggle House in Warrington when required. No two weeks are quite the same. One day you might be planning a major colleague event, the next creating content for a business-wide campaign, capturing video content, supporting a leadership engagement session or meeting stakeholders to understand their communications needs. Occasional travel and some flexibility around working hours will be required to support events and engagement activity.
First and foremost, you'll be responsible for creating and delivering engaging communications and engagement activity that helps colleagues, customers and stakeholders feel informed, involved and connected to our vision, values and priorities. One of the great things about this role is the variety. You'll have the opportunity to lead on colleague events and engagement initiatives, build strong relationships across the organisation, develop creative campaigns and tell stories that bring our people, values and impact to life.
A long side this, you'll work closely with stakeholders to provide communications support and advice, create high-quality content across a range of channels, champion two-way engagement and use insight and feedback to continually improve what we do.
To be successful as a Communications & Engagement Officer here at YHG, you'll have:
- Experience delivering communications and engagement activity across multiple channels and audiences.
- Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills.
- Experience building strong stakeholder relationships and providing communications advice and support.
- Experience planning and delivering events, engagement activity or campaigns.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work at pace.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business travel.
Ideally, you'll be:
- A collaborative team player who enjoys working with others to achieve great outcomes.
- Proactive, organised and comfortable taking ownership of your work.
- Curious, creative and always looking for new ways to engage people.
- Someone who builds relationships naturally and enjoys working with people from across the business.
This role is really suited to someone who loves variety, enjoys bringing ideas to life and gets a buzz from creating communications and experiences that genuinely make a difference. You'll be joining a supportive, high-performing team where you'll have the opportunity to broaden your experience across internal communications, engagement, events and campaigns, while developing your skills and helping shape the future of communications at YHG.
If you're passionate about communications, engagement and creating great experiences for people, we'd love to hear from you.
In return we offer up to £35,000 for a 35-hour week, and 26 days annual leave (holidays also increase with time served) plus Bank Holidays, but our employee offering provides much more than just a competitive salary and holiday allowance. On top of this, we'll provide you with a great benefits package, including a contributory pension where we match whatever you choose to contribute (up to 8%), an advanced level Healthcare cash plan through Medicash, that doesn't just provide dental and optician cashback but also health and wellbeing benefits (such as 24/7 GP Access, money back from prescriptions and alternative therapy treatments) and an amazing discount scheme that gives you access to half price cinema tickets, subsidised gym memberships and a huge range of discounts with some of the biggest high street and online names.
