This job is for a Night Duty Manager at YHA London Central. It is a permanent, flexible contract offering 24-40 hours per week at a rate of Β£13.13 per hour plus a Β£1.20 Local Living Allowance (applies to all, including those under the age of 21).

As a Night Duty Manager, you will support the Hostel Manager with the day-to-day management of the hostel, creating a great place for teams to work and ensuring guests have a positive experience.

What will you be doing as a Night Duty Manager?

  • Guiding and supporting team members working in all areas of the hostel, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Using systems for efficient guest check-ins and check-outs, food and beverage sales and service, and other management functions.
  • Carrying out housekeeping duties, ensuring a comfortable, clean environment for all visitors.
  • Assisting in the preparation of food and serving food and drinks with genuine warmth, hospitality, and pride that will influence more sales.
  • Deputising for the Hostel/Deputy Manager, managing the daily hostel operation in their absence.

What Skills and Experience do you need to be a Night Duty Manager?

  • Experience of working face-to-face with customers.
  • Experience in hospitality or customer service, including the management and delivery of a quality service.
  • Experience of managing a team - experience of leading others, providing guidance to members of your team (desirable).
  • Food safety level 2 and APLH level 2 qualifications (desirable).
  • Ability to manage varying pressures, including peaks in workload demands - can prioritise, able to deal with conflicting duties.
  • Basic IT skills (ideally Microsoft Office) - able to use Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the core purpose of YHA - what YHA does and how we do it.
