As a Project Design Engineer, you'll combine technical expertise, project management and problemâsolving skills to shape machines that make a real impact for clients.
What You'll Do:
- Design and develop specialâpurpose machinery, tailoring solutions for different markets and client requirements.
- Manage projects from sales order to commissioning, producing Gantt charts, BOMs, layout drawings and progress reports.
- Conduct customer site surveys and support onâsite commissioning and factory testing.
- Create 3D CAD models using Autodesk Inventor and 2D drawings in AutoCAD, applying stress analysis and designâforâmanufacture principles.
- Provide technical support across operations, service engineers and clients, ensuring worldâclass standards are met.
- Maintain technical documentation including O&M manuals, spares drawings and product compliance files (UKCA/CE).
- Contribute to quality assurance and warranty investigations, helping improve processes and product reliability.
What We're Looking For:
- Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or Product Design with strong maths and physics proficiency.
- Proficient in Autodesk Inventor (3D) and AutoCAD (2D). Other 3D design software will be considered, with training in Autodesk Inventor provided for the right candidate.
- Strong understanding of sheet metal, casting, machining, fluid power and control systems.
- Excellent project management, planning and organisational skills with the ability to work independently and in a team.
- Positive, methodical and proactive approach, with enthusiasm to learn and grow.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate across teams, clients and subcontractors.
