YF works with challenger FMCG brands on their journey to mainstream success, providing advisory and support across Sales, Supply Chain, Category and the Starter Programme.

We also partner with retailers to help them find and back high potential brands.

We are hiring a Junior Marketing Manager to join our small marketing team in Old Street.

Before you read on: you need to know the FMCG industry.

You might have worked in an FMCG brand, in agency marketing in the FMCG sector, or in a service business or consultancy working with FMCG brands.

This is a must, and it is the part we cannot teach you quickly.

THE ROLE

Reporting into the Marketing Director, you will turn senior level brand and marketing strategy into campaigns that land with challenger brand founders and commercial teams.

You will take ideas from initial brief through to delivery across channels, keep everything moving, and review what worked so we keep getting better.

This is a small marketing team with no agency behind it, so the craft sits with you.

It is also an opportunity for genuine ownership rather than a narrowly defined marketing role.

You will be encouraged to introduce ideas, try new approaches and help build a modern, commercially effective marketing function.

  • WHAT YOU WILL OWN
  • CRM
  • Hub Spot database management and health, list cleansing and ongoing optimisation of segments
  • Building sequences and funnels, working closely with the Business Development team on campaign outputs and lead identification
  • Email marketing
  • Researching, writing, building and sending weekly newsletters and campaign emails
  • Building application forms and landing pages in Hub Spot
  • Reporting on deliverability and engagement, and managing the feedback loop with our Business Development and Service Teams
  • Linked In
  • Researching, writing and posting on the company Linked In three times per week, across FMCG events, news and trends, brand awareness content, client case studies and thought leadership
  • Championing new content approaches to cut through vanilla Linked In noise
  • Becoming totally immersed in the FMCG challenger brand world on Linked In. Wherever there is a useful conversation happening for challenger brands, YF should be in the comments
  • Keeping the new business radar on, passing relevant leads to the Business Development team
  • Potential for ghostwriting for senior team members, to be confirmed
  • Design and video
  • Designing the supporting assets yourself: carousels, digital event flyers, one-pagers, social graphics and templates the wider team can pick up and use
  • Filming and editing short-form video end to end, including founder and client interviews, event coverage and campaign cutdowns, captioned and cut for Linked In
  • Knowing which thirty seconds of a forty minute interview actually land, because you understand the industry and what our clients are worried about
  • Category, data and insight
  • Using category and market data to sharpen the marketing, turning insight into campaign angles, Linked In content and thought leadership that proves we know the market better than anyone else talking to challenger brands
  • Events
  • Devising key messaging and the recruitment plan for events
  • Designing event signage and collateral for internal and external events
  • Capturing and creating content at events, working with videographers or independently

ABOUT YOU

  • 2+ years of relevant marketing experience
  • You know the FMCG industry, as set out above
  • If you are coming from an FMCG brand background, you understand the commercial nuances of B2B versus B2C
  • Experience of the full campaign lifecycle: planning, implementing, delivering and evaluating end to-end campaigns, with email and Linked In as key channels
  • You can digest high level brand strategy and translate it into practical marketing tactics
  • You are great with people. A lot of this role runs on getting time, opinions and material out of busy colleagues, founders and clients, and making them want to help you again
  • You are organised, you multitask well and you bring high attention to detail in fast paced environments
  • You have a genuine interest in the brands disrupting the retail landscape right now
  • You are fluent in Linked In
  • THE HARD SKILLS WE NEED
  • Copywriting. You write well and quickly, in YF's voice and in other people's, and you do not need a copywriter behind you
  • Design. Confident in Canva as a minimum, Adobe a bonus. Assets that look like a design team made them
  • Video. You can shoot on a phone or a camera and edit short-form content yourself, including captions, cutdowns and simple motion
  • CRM and email. Hub Spot or similar, building sequences, forms, landing pages and the reporting that goes with them
  • AI. You use AI tools to work faster and you know where they help and where they do not
  • WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU

You will play a major role in shaping how YF shows up to the challenger brands, founders and retailers we exist to support, with real ownership over a growing capability and the chance to help build a modern marketing function from the inside.

Alongside this we offer

  • A competitive salary
  • Healthcare cash plan
