The Software Engineer (Digital Transformation) is to lead the technical implementation of the college's digitization project by transforming paper-based forms into electronic forms (e-forms) and automated workflows. This project-funded position will focus on hands-on configuration of workflow systems and ERP, integration of open-source tools, and exploration of AI solutions to modernise operations across all academic and administrative units.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and implement e-forms and automated workflows using workflow platforms and the ERP system's workflow engine.
  • Develop integrations between the e-form system, ERP, and other databases using RESTful APIs, webhooks, and SQL.
  • Research and integrate open-source AI tools for intelligent document processing, data extraction, and process automation.
  • Collaborate with staff across relevant departments to analyse paper-based workflows and identify digitisation opportunities.
  • Write Python scripts for data processing, automation, and AI integration.
  • Conduct testing of new e-forms and workflows to ensure data integrity and system reliability.
  • Create technical documentation and provide training to support staff transition to digital processes.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in designing and implementing e-forms and workflow automation; familiarity with ERP/workflow systems, BPM, is highly preferred.
  • Strong SQL skills for data manipulation and integration.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and webhooks for system integration.
  • Proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and AI integration.
  • Demonstrated interest in AI/ML; experience with OCR tools, NLP libraries, or AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) or intelligent automation is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and cloud platforms is beneficial.

Salary and Fringe Benefits

Initial appointment will normally be made on a renewable 24+ months contract. Remuneration is competitive and will be based on qualifications and relevant experience. The College offers group medical insurance and dental, staff development support and leave provisions (annual leave, birthday leave, college leave, etc) to eligible appointee.
