The Director (Research and Knowledge Transfer) will lead and oversee the strategic development, management, and implementation of the College's research and knowledge transfer activities. Collaborating closely with the Dean of Studies, academic units, and related committees, the post-holder will drive initiatives that strengthen the College's research capacity, enhance scholarly output, and expand collaboration with external partners and funding agencies. The Director is expected to hold a concurrent appointment as an Associate Professor and have teaching and research responsibilities commensurate with that position.
Job Responsibilities
- Identifying opportunities for external research grants, partnerships, and funding sources;
- Supporting the preparation, submission, and administration of competitive research and knowledge transfer grant proposals;
- Developing and implementing policies, systems, and good practices to enhance institutional research performance;
- Facilitating collaborations between faculty members, research institutes, and industry partners;
- Organising faculty and student research seminars, symposia, and conferences to promote a vibrant research culture;
- Mentoring academic staff in manuscript preparation, peer‐reviewed journal submissions, and dissemination of research findings;
- Overseeing compliance with research governance requirements, including ethics, data management, and funding regulations;
- Supporting the development and management of intellectual property and technology transfer initiatives;
- Compiling, analysing, and reporting institutional research statistics and outputs;
- Coordinating the College's research publication platforms and repositories;
- Supervising research support staff and ensuring efficient operation of the Office.
Job Requirements
- A PhD in early childhood education, educational psychology, or related disciplines;
- Demonstrated research expertise with extensive publication and grant writing experiences;
- A strong record of teaching;
- Demonstrated experience in research policy development, management, and administration;
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills;
- Bilingual competency in English and Chinese and an appreciation of the challenges of working in a multicultural context will be advantageous.
Salary and Fringe Benefits
The appointment will be for an initial period of three years, renewable subject to performance and mutual agreement. The College offers a competitive remuneration package, including an attractive salary, medical and dental insurance, staff development support, and College leave benefits.
