King James VI Golf Club is seeking a motivated and creative Club Manager to work with the Senior Team and wider Committee to help build and shape the long‑term future of our friendly and unique golf club. Established in 1858, King James VI Golf Club is a Tom Morris designed course located in a unique setting on Moncreiffe Island in the middle of the River Tay, in Perth city centre. Our growing membership includes male, female, senior and junior members, with an expanding junior section.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and market the golf club across social media and other appropriate platforms.
- Maximise sponsorship and fundraising opportunities.
- Ensure excellent member and visitor experience outcomes.
- Oversee the day‑to‑day operations of the clubhouse, bar/kitchen and golf shop.
- Motivate and support staff, including responsibility for HR matters.
- Provide oversight of the bar/kitchen, shop, golf course, finance and membership administration.
- Manage invoicing, payroll, pensions, banking and accounting processes.
- Source and maintain supplier goods and contracts, including utilities, insurance and health and safety across all departments.
- Prepare reports for the Committee and AGM.
- Take ownership of and drive the club’s 5‑year planning process.
About You
The successful candidate will have a strong customer focus and the confidence to work with members, visitors, staff, volunteers, suppliers and the Committee. They should be organised, commercially aware and comfortable taking ownership of a varied and important leadership role. They will be competent in people management, cost control, administration and sales, and confident using office and finance software including Microsoft Office, Xero Accounting, payroll, pensions and online banking systems.
