Description:

An exceptional opportunity to join one of Yorkshire’s most prestigious golf clubs.

We are creating an exciting new role for an exceptional Assistant General Manager to join the Club’s senior leadership team and further support the Club in its next phase of development and growth. This is a broad, high-impact role at the operational heart of the Club, supporting the General Manager across, membership services, events, golf operations, administration and compliance.

The successful candidate will act as the General Manager’s deputy, keeping the Club’s day-to-day operations running smoothly and providing the organisational backbone that allows the wider team to deliver an outstanding experience.

The Role

As Assistant General Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the Club consistently delivers an exceptional experience for its members, guests and visitors.

You will provide visible and engaging support and leadership across the Club’s operations, supporting the General Manager in the effective management of people, facilities, golf competitions, events, hospitality and member services.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the General Manager in the overall management and strategic development of the Club.
  • Maintaining the highest standards of member and guest service.
  • Working closely with the Club’s professional, hospitality, and administrative teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • Supporting the planning and delivery of the Club’s diary of competitions, functions, corporate events and social occasions.
  • Contributing to financial management, budgets, purchasing and commercial performance.
  • Building strong relationships with members, committees, suppliers and external stakeholders.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency, service standards and the overall member experience.
  • Acting as a senior representative of the Club and deputising for the General Manager when required.

About You

We are looking for a confident and accomplished manager with a genuine passion for delivering outstanding service.

You will ideally have:

  • Proven experience within a private members’ golf club,
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the confidence to engage effectively with members, committees, colleagues and senior stakeholders.
  • A commercially astute and operationally focused approach.
  • Experience managing budgets, teams and multiple operational priorities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to consistently high standards.
  • The ability to remain calm, professional and solutions-focused in a demanding environment.
  • A natural understanding of discretion, diplomacy and the expectations associated with a prestigious private club.
  • A flexible approach, including the ability to work evenings, weekends and during key Club events when required.

Salary:

£28k-34k Commensurate with experience, plus other benefits including –
