South Cerney Golf Course, located near Cirencester in the Cotswolds, is seeking an experienced Head Greenkeeper to oversee the maintenance and presentation of its 18‑hole course. This role blends hands‑on turf management with team supervision to deliver excellent playing conditions year‑round.
Responsibilities
- Maintain greens, tees, fairways, bunkers and surrounding landscape areas
- Operate and maintain golf course machinery and equipment safely
- Carry out mowing, aeration, top dressing, irrigation and turf management activities
- Apply fertilisers, pesticides and herbicides
- Plant and maintain shrubs and trees
- Assist with course set‑up for daily play
- Monitor course conditions and report maintenance requirements
- Follow health and safety procedures
- Supervise staff
Qualifications
- Qualified greenkeeper with minimum Level 3 Certification in Turf Management or equivalent
- AQF3 Chemical spray certification desirable
- Knowledge of safe equipment handling and basic mechanical aptitude
- Full UK driving licence
