Description:

Love golf? Turn your passion for the game into a career.:

Basingstoke Golf Club is looking for an enthusiastic, friendly and hard-working Golf Operations Assistant to join our team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves golf and wants to build a career in the industry. Working alongside our Golf Operations Manager and professional team, you will gain hands‑on experience across the whole club, from the first tee and the golf course to our 1907 Academy driving range, competitions and events.

This isn’t a desk job. You will be out on the course, on the range and in the clubhouse, at the centre of the day‑to‑day experience for our members and visitors.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Welcome members and visitors on the first tee and help manage tee times and the flow of play
  • Act as course marshal, keeping play moving and helping golfers enjoy their round
  • Run and look after the 1907 Academy driving range
  • Help organise and run competitions, matches and society days
  • Support registration, scoring, results and prize presentations
  • Play your part in our showcase events, including the Pro‑Am and Captain’s Drive‑In
  • Handle bookings and golf administration using our golf management software, respond to Golf Day enquiries and help deliver Golf Days on the day
  • Help put together the club and non‑member newsletters
  • Support the Golf Operations Manager and our professional team every day

Who We’re Looking For:

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Love golf and want a career in the golf industry
  • Know the game, its rules and etiquette, with a basic understanding of the World Handicap System
  • Are friendly and confident, and enjoy meeting and talking to people
  • Have a positive, can‑do attitude and are happy to get stuck in
  • Are organised, reliable and good with detail
  • Are comfortable with computers, including Word and Excel, and keen to learn new systems
  • Enjoy working both indoors and outdoors
  • Are happy to work weekends, bank holidays and varying shifts
  • Can work on your own initiative and as part of a team

Golf industry experience isn’t essential. We’re looking for the right attitude, enthusiasm and a real desire to learn, and we’ll give you full training on our golf systems. A driving licence and First Aid certificate would be a bonus.

What we offer:

  • £28,000–£30,000 salary
  • Full‑time, permanent position
  • Free golf
  • Meals on duty
  • Hands‑on experience across every area of golf operations
  • The chance to learn from an experienced golf professional and management team
  • Real career development within the golf industry
  • A varied role in a busy, friendly private members’ club

Where Could This Take You?

This role gives you a broad understanding of how a golf club operates and a strong foundation for a long‑term career in golf, whether in golf operations, club management or the wider industry.

Ready to Get Started?

If you’re passionate about golf, love working with people and want to be part of a great team, we’d love to hear from you.

Basingstoke Golf Club is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
