YES Manchester CIO - Employability Coordinator

Reporting To: Employability Support Manager

Responsible for: none

Base Location(s): YES Manchester Newton Heath (M40 2TP) and Collyhurst (M40 7GH)

Salary (bracket): £24,440 – £26,121 35hrs p/w (Full & Part-time considered)

Purpose

To work with a caseload of unemployed or underemployed customers and support with obtaining meaningful and sustainable employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional, positive, and effective information, advice, and guidance (IAG) to YES Manchester CIO customers.
  • Engage unemployed and underemployed people with the services provided by YES Manchester, undertaking outreach activities as required to generate referrals to YES Manchester.
  • Register customers, accurately recording their information on the database in accordance with data protection and confidentiality policies, in a timely manner.
  • Complete all and any necessary documentation to evidence the delivery of services and outcomes, as required by funders.
  • Maintain awareness of local economic and employment trends and information to ensure that information given to customers is up-to-date and relevant to their needs.
  • To support customers in overcoming multi-complex barriers to employment through effective signposting activities.
  • Support customers to obtain suitable training, education and qualifications in-line with their employment aspirations.
  • To adhere to external accreditations, such as MATRIX
  • Work from YES Manchester CIO sites in Newton Heath and Collyhurst, and outreach locations across Greater Manchester where required.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Experience of supporting people into meaningful and sustainable employment
  • Experience of supporting vulnerable people to overcome complex barriers to employment
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Demonstrates the values of YES Manchester CIO
  • Patience, a non-judgmental approach and seeks to empower and build confidence in others
  • Demonstrates willing and proactiveness to develop self and others
  • Ability to work on own initiative and within a team
  • Ability to record information accurately and timely
  • Basic understanding of the principles of Data Protection, Confidentiality & Safeguarding
  • Strong and effective communication and influencing skills

Desirable

  • Minimum L3 qualification in IAG/CIAG or IEP
  • Experience of liaising with employers
  • Experience of recruitment practices
  • Networking and partnership experience, including delivering presentations
  • Full UK drivers’ licence
