Yeovil College invites applicants for the role of Workshop Manager in the Creative Design Industries department.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day‑to‑day operation of designated workshops, ensuring they are safe, well‑equipped and ready for learning.
  • Demonstrate, instruct and assess practical skills in line with awarding body standards.
  • Maintain equipment, manage consumable stock and ordering, and keep training documentation up to date.
  • Lead health and safety compliance within workshop areas and perform associated administrative duties.
  • Create an engaging and inclusive learning environment that supports individual learner needs.
  • Contribute to departmental marketing and events and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, employers and external partners.
  • Assist students in developing the skills and confidence needed for successful careers in the creative industries.

Qualifications

  • Industry experience working within the creative sector.
  • Working knowledge of the latest developments in digital technology.
  • Assessors or teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one.
  • Interest in supporting young people to learn and develop new skills.
  • Ability to work successfully within a team.
