We are seeking an energetic and dynamic Sales Manager to lead our sales team at Barnard & Brough Nissan at Haywards Heath, part of the Yeomans group.

In this pivotal role, you will drive sales growth, develop strategic customer relationships, and foster a high-performance environment that motivates your team to excel.

Your leadership will ensure we deliver exceptional customer experiences, achieve new and used car sales targets, maximise revenue opportunities, and uphold the dealership’s reputation for excellence.

Your key responsibilities will include

  • Leading the sales team, whilst also working effectively with the Aftersales Manager and their own team.
  • Oversee all aspects of the sales process, including prospecting, qualifying leads, presenting vehicles, upselling accessories and add-ons, and closing deals.
  • Ensure all targets, KPIs, and Honda brand standards are met and consistently exceeded.
  • Setting objectives to maximise the profitability and performance of the sales department.
  • Developing sales department plans and budgets to achieve quarterly and annual targets.
  • Managing financial and operational controls across the department and wider dealership.
  • Responding swiftly to any customer complaints and ensure appropriate and timely resolutions are achieved.
  • Taking responsibility for recruitment and training plans within the dealership.

Requirements

  • A proven track record of running a successful sales department in a main dealer environment.
  • A strong understanding of the used car market, with experience of buying and maintaining used car stock and an excellent understanding of utilising the Auto Trader platform to maximise used car profitability and stock turn.
  • The ability to lead by example, and to manage and inspire the team to consistently exceed customer satisfaction, new and used volume and profitability objectives.
  • Experience of developing and monitoring budgets.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills with high levels of self-motivation.
  • A full, clean UK driving licence.
