So, what will I be doing?
We are looking for our next manufacturing shift manager to take over our day shift at our yogurt facility in the heart of the Somerset countryside in Crewkerne, near Yeovil.
As a Shift manager you will be accountable for all operational aspects of Crewkerne site whilst on shift, so management of large teams in a manufacturing environment is essential.
Our shifts are 12 hour, 4 days on and 4 days off.
Key responsibilities:
- Meeting operational plans (both production and hygiene)
- Ensure Health & Safety standards are always maintained (Visible for the H&S Responsibility)
- Ensuring satisfactory handover of information to following shift, and escalate where appropriate
- Financial budget adherence
- Driving continuous improvement culture across the shift team, identifying improvement activities and following through to completion
- Working with other shifts and stakeholders realising improvement activities
- Leading investigation/identification of root cause for health and safety breaches, food safety or quality breaches, or mechanical breakdowns
- Sharing learnings and amending procedures to prevent reoccurrence
- Maintaining shift training compliance and recording keeping
- Ensuring all relevant Job Breakdown Sheets (standard operating procedures) are maintained
- Site contact for external hygiene chemical supplier, ensuring maintenance of chemical stock levels are maintained
You will work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, looking after day shift (6:00 β 18:00) and night shift (18:00 β 6:00). Your shift is 12h with your core working hours during the day.
