So, what will I be doing?
It\βs an exciting time to join Yeo Valley Crewkerne. Earmarked as a centre of innovation, the Crewkerne site represents Yeo Valley\βs evolution into a larger food business. With three manufacturing plants, Crewkerne produces strained yoghurt, soup, and fruit products. To support our growth, we are seeking a Production Team Manager to oversee night operations in our dairy plant. In this role, you\βll lead and develop a Production Operation team while enhancing your leadership skills.
We are a co-owned business, prioritizing the health, safety, wellbeing, and development of our people. You will ensure our raw materials, and both prepared and finished products are produced to high standards in a safe environment. Besides maintaining smooth operations, you will seek ways to improve quality, efficiency, and production costs by engaging your team and collaborating with other departments.
This position involves night shifts from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am, on a 4 on 4 off schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading the team to ensure effective product delivery
- Managing health and safety within your area, promoting compliance and safety culture
- Developing team members to meet targets and promoting autonomy to achieve KPIs such as safety, quality, delivery, and cost
- Collaborating with other functions to plan and prioritize work
- Supporting raw material handling, product dispatch, and documentation
- Utilizing computer software, including Microsoft Office and relevant systems
- Leading continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and costs
- Ensuring team compliance with quality standards
- Providing high-standard communication and reporting
- Focusing on asset care and quality assurance through team leadership
