We are hiring TWO Engineering Apprentices for our CANNINGTON site. The successful candidates will join Yeo Valley in July/August and start at Bridgwater college from September 2026. As an Engineering Apprentice at Yeo Valley, you will be working as part of a busy, dynamic Engineering team in a distinctive, ambitious and trusted manufacturing company that is committed to making great British dairy & organic products.

What can I expect?

  • Our Engineering apprentices study the OAL Level 3 Diploma in Food and Drink Engineering Maintenance over 3.5 years.
  • First Year: You will spend block periods during term time at Bridgwater college and the rest of the time will be on site, embedding into the business and gaining practical skills.
  • Second and Third Year: You will spend three or four days per week on site receiving in-house training and one or two days per week at college (dependent on timetable).
  • Following completion of the Level 3 modules you will complete a twelve-week, End Point Assessment with an external verifier.

Hours during the apprenticeship: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday with some flexibility required in the final year. Please note these roles work shift patterns.

Pay during the apprenticeship:

  • 21 and over: £12.71
  • 18-20 Years: £10.85
  • 16-17 Years: £8.00

Requirements:

  • Under 19 years – a minimum of 4 GCSE’s with Grade 4 or higher in Maths and English.
  • Over 19 Years – You will be required to meet the essential Maths & English level for the apprenticeship.
  • Good communication skills, commitment and willingness to progress within the business.
  • Relevant experience and previous study will also be taken into consideration.
  • A genuine interest in Engineering.
