As Canteen Chef (Known as Chef de Partie), you’ll be an integral member of the team at our Premier Yoghurt Manufacturing site, based in a rural setting in the heart of Yeo Valley (Public transport is not available for this role). You will be responsible for delivering a well-balanced, quality food provision for Yeo Valley employees including breakfast, lunch, snacks and cakes. You’ll have the opportunity to help shape and develop the catering offering alongside the Catering Manager. As well as being a whizz in the kitchen, you’ll focus on ensuring consistency and cost efficiencies where possible.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and delivering all catering requirements including breakfast, lunch, & desserts
- Providing corporate hospitality where required, for external visitors
- Follow food safety guidelines and maintain a clean kitchen environment
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to deliver efficient service, leading by example
- Monitor food stock levels and place orders when necessary
- Ensuring all procedures and compliance logs are completed in line with site requirements
Hours
40 hours per week, working 5 out of 7 days with a shift pattern of 0600 - 1400 (with one weekend working every two weeks).
What do I need?
The Important Things
- Minimum 4 years experience of working as a chef
- As a minimum you will be qualified to Food Hygiene level 2 / Foundation in Health & Safety / Food allergen awareness
- Background in working in onsite canteens
- Extensive knowledge of food preparation and culinary techniques
- Demonstrable knowledge of food safety and compliance within a catering or food manufacturing setting
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to train, develop and motivate
- Strong customer service skills
