As a lead member of the team, I will support the production or supply chain team on the site I am based in the planning, coordination and optimisation of all resources in a defined area of work. I will be the go-to person in the team for support, using my coordination skills to ensure operational activities are completed safely, delivering the highest standards of safety, product quality and service levels to enable the team to deliver our products to customers.

Working with teams in an area and the wider site team, I will ensure they can work productively and effectively. By coordinating resources across multiple assets and conducting performance improvement meetings, I will optimise asset utilisation and raw material use.

Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a commitment to Health & Safety by working safely, modelling safety behaviours, challenging unsafe practices, rectifying unsafe conditions and escalating to others when needed.
  • Lead the active involvement of teams in all Health & Safety aspects of their work to support ongoing improvement.
  • Escalate any food safety breach or quality issue and ensure any product below standards is identified, held, and resolved.
  • Involve, commit and govern the quality management system, ensuring relevant controls and procedures validate food safety and exceed customer expectations.
  • Understand, lead and maintain good manufacturing practices and company standards of hygiene, PPE, and dress code.
  • Role model a ‘Clean as You Go’ approach, leading workplace organisation and visual management standards with the team.
  • Work with the Technical team to understand audit non‑conformances and consumer complaints, managing communications and actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Facilitate Short Interval Control Reviews, establishing actions and owners for ongoing improvements and coordinating tasks and resources to optimise operations.
  • Analyse and interpret asset performance to identify opportunities and initiate support to improve performance and raw material yields.
  • Participate in changeover optimisation, identifying opportunities and coordinating resources to improve asset utilisation.
  • Communicate and share performance data, ensuring team awareness of how their role contributes to shift, site and business success.
  • Maintain accurate and timely recording of downtime and raw material usage across the area to support improvement initiatives.
  • Undertake basic fault finding and rectification on equipment, supporting root cause identification and escalation to the wider support team when required.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly maintained through layered validation of cleaning tasks and compliance with the schedule.
  • Train and validate understanding to the highest standard, coaching and mentoring others to build capability.
  • Collate, suggest, initiate and implement improvement activities within own team and across shifts.
  • Work across the team and through effective handovers to understand common challenges and opportunities, seeking investigations where most helpful.
  • Energise the team and demonstrate a consistently enthusiastic approach, taking quick action and encouraging others to do the same.
