We’re looking for a Skilled Operator to join our Dairy Production team at Yeo Valley’s Crewkerne site. You’ll play a key role in keeping our production lines running smoothly – ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. You’ll be hands‑on with our machinery, taking responsibility for first‑line maintenance, changeovers, and ensuring that downtime is kept to a minimum. Working as part of a close‑knit team, you’ll help us deliver our award‑winning products to our customers every single day. This is a 4 on 4 off days role, working 6am to 6pm.
What you’ll be doing:
- Operating and maintaining equipment to achieve production targets
- Supporting fault finding and basic equipment repairs, escalating when needed
- Completing effective cleaning and first-line maintenance tasks
- Monitoring quality standards and escalating any issues promptly
- Accurately recording downtime, raw material usage, and performance data
- Playing an active role in team success, improvement projects, and site initiatives
- Promoting Health & Safety and food safety standards at all times
What do I need?
- Previous experience as a machine or production operator (food manufacturing desirable)
- Strong team-working and communication skills
- A keen eye for detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work safely and effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable with manual tasks and basic fault finding
- Knowledge of HACCP and food hygiene (desirable)
