As a Technical Operator, you are an integral member of the Production team on our Cannington site, responsible for operating and optimising complex machines and processing equipment. Using your operational/mechanical skills and knowledge, you will be the go-to person in the team for support with complex operational processes and identifying root causes of underlying problems.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Effective operation and optimisation of equipment and priorities to meet production demand and deliver the highest quality products.
- Ownership of performance and yield in your area/asset to optimise running conditions and lead mechanical improvement activities.
- Analysis and interpretation of operational machine parameters to support effective decision making and drive improvements.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of downtime and raw material usage.
- Undertake advanced/complex fault finding, decision making, and rectification on equipment, leading the identification of root causes.
- Ensure all equipment is properly cared for by completing effective cleaning and maintenance tasks.
- Work across the team to ensure effective handovers and identify common challenges and opportunities.
- Train and validate understanding to the highest standard, coaching and mentoring others to build capability.
- Energise the team and demonstrate a consistently enthusiastic approach.
- Demonstrate a commitment to Health & Safety by working safely and challenging unsafe practices.
- Undertake routine checks to validate and maintain equipment safety control systems.
- Escalate any food safety breaches or quality issues and ensure that any product below standards is identified and held.
- Active involvement in the quality management system to ensure food safety controls are validated.
- Understand, adhere to, and lead good manufacturing practices and company standards.
- Role model a “Clean as You Go” approach, leading workplace organisation and visual management standards.
The shifts follow a 4 on 4 off days working pattern between 0600-18:00 (12 hour shifts).
