π¬ Cell biology scientist We're looking for a talented and motivated Scientist to join our Cell Biology team at Yellowstone Biosciences in Oxford.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to the discovery and characterisation of novel T cell engaging cancer therapies within a fast-paced and collaborative biotech environment.
You'll play a key role in designing, executing, and analysing cellular assays that support our drug discovery programmes and help drive critical scientific decisions.

ABOUT THE ROLE As a Scientist within our Cell Biology team, you will design and perform a range of in vitro assays to evaluate novel therapeutic candidates.
Working closely with colleagues across biology and protein science you'll generate high-quality experimental data and contribute to projects from early-stage discovery through to decision-making.
This role is ideal for a laboratory-based scientist who enjoys hands-on research, solving complex scientific problems, and working within a multidisciplinary team developing next-generation cancer therapeutics. π¬ What you'll do
- Design, perform, and analyse cell-based assays to evaluate therapeutic candidates
- Culture and maintain mammalian cell lines and primary immune cells
- Conduct flow cytometry experiments, including staining, assay optimisation, data acquisition, and analysis
- Perform ELISA and other immunoassays to quantify cytokines, biomarkers, and protein expression
- Support assay development and optimisation
- Maintain accurate experimental records using electronic laboratory notebooks
- Analyse, interpret, and present experimental data to project teams
- Collaborate with colleagues across multiple scientific disciplines to advance research programmes
- Contribute to laboratory organisation, equipment maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure all laboratory activities are conducted in accordance with company safety and quality standards π Who we're looking for Essential
- BSc, MSc, or Ph D (plus 2+ years post-qualification research experience) in Cell Biology, Immunology, Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology, or a related discipline
- Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture techniques
- Practical experience performing ELISA assays
- Experience with flow cytometry, including sample preparation, staining, instrument operation, and data analysis
- Strong experimental design, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team Desirable
- Experience working with primary human immune cells, including PBMCs and T cells
- Knowledge of T cell biology, immune activation, and cancer immunology
- Experience with T cell functional assays, including cytokine release, proliferation, or cytotoxicity assays
- Familiarity with T cell engaging therapies, bispecific antibodies, CAR-T, or TCR-T approaches
- Experience using Flow Jo or similar flow cytometry analysis software
- Experience analysing scientific data using Graph Pad Prism or equivalent tools
