Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Junior UX Engineer, based in Bedford, UK. As part of the product and engineering team, you will collaborate on designing and developing intuitive, data-driven user experiences for technologies within Yellow Sub AI Group. Daily tasks include building responsive front-end interfaces and dashboards, refining visual designs, and applying user experience principles across digital applications.
You will work closely with backend and hardware teams to visualise live data streams - including real-time movement analytics and IoT sensor outputs - ensuring complex information is displayed in a clear and engaging way. The role also involves contributing to design systems, reusable UI components, and optimising performance across platforms. You’ll assist in user testing, participate in UX reviews, and help evolve design flows based on feedback. We’re looking for someone curious, detail-oriented, and proactive - someone who enjoys experimenting, prototyping, and bringing clean, functional design to life.
Qualifications
- Core Skills
- Strong foundation in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (ES6+)
- Experience with React, Next.js, or similar frameworks (or willingness to learn)
- Familiarity with data visualisation tools (Chart.js, D3.js, Toast UI, etc.)
- Understanding of UX principles, accessibility, and responsive design
- Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows
- Curiosity about emerging technologies like Rust, WebAssembly, or AI-driven interfaces
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Design, Human–Computer Interaction, or a related field
- Strong visual design sensibility and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a team-oriented environment
