Child and Adolescent Trauma Therapist (Frankie Worker)

Yellow Door is a charity working in Hampshire to prevent and respond to domestic and sexual abuse. We provide a range of services to local people of all ages and genders.

Overview

We are recruiting a Child and Adolescent Trauma Therapist for the Frankie Worker Service.

Frankie Workers are dedicated counsellors for children and young people who are victims of sexual abuse, sexual exploitation or female genital mutilation.

The role involves delivering therapeutic support for children and young people aged 0–18 years across Hampshire.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver therapy sessions in community and Yellow Door Southampton settings.
  • Work alongside local authorities to provide appropriate support.
  • Travel within Hampshire and operate as an essential car user.
  • Maintain professional boundaries; former clients of the service will not be considered for employment for two years after their relationship ends.

Qualifications

  • Experienced and qualified Therapist.
  • Worked in voluntary or statutory roles with children and young people.
  • Skilled in trauma work with knowledge of evidence‑based practice for sexual abuse.
  • Hours and Contract
  • Hours: 22.5 – 37.5 hours per week, Mon‑Fri (must be available on Tuesday mornings).
  • Contract: Permanent (subject to successful probationary period) or self‑employed option available.
  • Early evening hours may be required.
  • Self‑employed role may be considered.
  • Conditions and Requirements
  • Excellent safeguarding skills and commitment to child welfare.
  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure required.
  • Must be a licensed driver.
