We are assisting a renowned hotel situated in the Thurso, in their search to recruit a Head Chef.
This hotel is well-regarded for its commitment to excellence and its unique location in Thurso making it an attractive opportunity for an experienced Head Chef.
The hotel benefits from its spectacular surroundings. 46 Bedrooms, 60 seater bar and banqueting for a maximum of 120.

The Role
- Lead the culinary team to deliver exceptional, safe, high-quality dishes across all outlets
- Oversee menu development and seasonal offerings
- Drive food quality, consistency, specification compliance and guest satisfaction
- Manage financial performance, including food cost, purchasing, yield and waste
- Champion change initiatives, team development, compliance and kitchen standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver training for kitchen brigade, which is made up of 4 FT, 1 PT, Baker and KPs.
- Motivate and encourage the team.
- Lead menu planning, seasonal updates and product innovation.
- Ensure all dishes meet full specification, costings and brand presentation standards ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Ensure systems, policies and procedures will be customer focussed and health & safety compliant.
- Regular updates to senior management and analysis of P&L accounts and budgets.
- Foster an environment of continuous departmental improvement

- Experience in a high-volume hotel or restaurant desirable
- Flexibility and adaptability
- Demonstrate proven ability to manage a kitchen and motivate a team
- Show your experience of managing profit and loss and how to continually improve the business working alongside senior managers and owner
- Bring a culture to the kitchen that is inclusive, hardworking and respectful
