Job Summary:
The Warehouse & Distribution Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations, inventory management, and distribution processes to ensure efficient and timely delivery of goods. This role requires strong leadership, operational expertise, and a keen focus on optimizing workflow, reducing costs, and maintaining high safety standards.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5 years+ experience in Warehouse Management and Distribution Management.
- Strong knowledge of logistics software and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
- Experience in process improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Warehouse Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficiency and adherence to company policies.
- Maintain and enforce health, safety, and security standards.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company guidelines.
- Develop and implement warehouse layout optimization strategies for maximum storage and workflow efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, stock movements, and warehouse activities.
Distribution & Logistics:
- Manage and optimize distribution strategies to meet delivery deadlines and customer expectations.
- Coordinate with logistics providers to ensure cost-effective and timely shipments.
- Implement best practices in fleet management, route planning, and carrier selection.
- Ensure all deliveries are accurately recorded and documented.
- Develop contingency plans for distribution disruptions.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure accurate stock control through regular audits.
- Minimize stock discrepancies and implement corrective actions when needed.
- Work closely with procurement and sales teams to align stock levels with demand.
- Implement efficient inventory turnover strategies to minimize holding costs.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, train, and mentor warehouse and distribution staff to enhance productivity and morale.
- Develop and maintain a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels and succession planning.
Technology & Process Improvement:
- Implement and maintain warehouse management systems (WMS) for efficiency and accuracy.
- Identify and introduce new technologies or process improvements to optimize operations.
- Track and report key operational metrics for data-driven decision-making.
