This is a rare and exciting opportunity to teach Academic Music at one of the world's most renowned specialist music schools. The position will be permanent, either part-time (at least 0.5 FTE) or full-time (dependent on the precise role and availability of the successful candidate). The candidate will work term-time only; however, some availability is needed during the holidays by agreement with the successful candidate. The salary for this position is £35,000-£45,000 per annum (full-time equivalent) dependent on experience and the precise role agreed.

Responsibilities

  • The main responsibility will be to prepare and deliver lessons in Academic Music up to and including A level.
  • A willingness to commit to the broader musical life of the school will be viewed favourably. In particular, we are looking for someone who would be able to do any or all of the following:
  • Manage and/or contribute to the Saturday morning programme at school.
  • Lead the school's outreach programme.
  • Prepare older pupils for conservatoire/university entry.
  • Run the musical provision of the Virtual Menuhin School (VMS).
  • Oversee the school's Supporting Studies.
  • Help to take pupils to concerts and other activities outside of school.
