Ye Olde Bell Hotel & Spa is seeking an experienced and talented head chef to join our team. As Head Chef, you will play a pivotal role in menu development and kitchen management whilst maintaining the highest standards of food quality and presentation. We are seeking an individual who shares our love for food, embraces creativity and has exceptional culinary and organisational skills.

Ye Olde Bell Hotel is a family owned AA four star country hotel in the heart of rural Nottinghamshire and boasts 59 bedrooms, luxury spa, bistro, restaurant and extensive event facilities. Catering at our traditional large events for up to 500 guests, across our two kitchens. The hotel is bursting with character, original features and modern twists, in addition to having a team fully committed to delivering the very highest standards of guest care. Our menus change with the seasons with plenty of opportunity for our Head Chef and their brigade to be involved, experiment and show their individuality.

Duties
  • Lead and supervise the kitchen team, providing guidance and mentorship.
  • Ensure all Company Health and Safety procedures are implemented and followed at all times within the hotel.
  • Ensure all legal requirements are met, including Health & Safety at Work, Food Safety Legislations, Fire Precautions, Manual Handling, Licensing Laws, GDPR and any others relevant to your department.
  • Ensure Food Safety Records are kept up to date, in accordance with the Food Safety Manual.
  • Ensure that all kitchen staff are compliant with compulsory Health, Safety and Food Training.
  • Coordinate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Ensure all wage and expenditure costs are firmly controlled within the budget and authorised prior to purchasing.
  • Manage inventory, order supplies, and control food costs to optimise operational efficiency.
  • Attend Management & Sales meetings when required.
Qualifications
  • Level 3 Food Safety Qualification is essential.
  • Proven management experience within a busy hospitality or restaurant setting.
  • Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food preparation.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure during peak hours.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with staff and management.
