Presales Engineer

What You Will Do

As a Presales Engineer / Application Engineer (Sensormatic Solutions), you will play a key role in supporting the design, estimation and quotation of retail security solutions across CCTV, Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) and RFID projects. Working closely with sales and project delivery teams, you will review customer requirements, interpret drawings and layouts, prepare accurate estimates, and ensure proposals are delivered to a high standard within agreed timescales. This role offers the opportunity to combine technical expertise with commercial awareness in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

How You Will Do It

Prepare accurate project estimates using the Sales & Install (SAI) platform. Review PDF drawings, project documentation and store layouts to determine system requirements and scope. Develop and maintain detailed Excel-based estimation worksheets. Validate quantities, material requirements, labour assumptions and pricing accuracy. Support the preparation of technical proposals, quotations and customer submissions. Liaise with sales, engineering and project teams to clarify technical and commercial requirements. Ensure estimates align with customer specifications, internal standards and project objectives. Maintain organised project documentation and estimation records. Support continuous improvement of estimation processes and tools. Deliver high-quality estimates and presales support within agreed deadlines.

What We Are Looking For

• Required 3 to 8 years' experience in estimation, engineering support, presales engineering or a similar technical role.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to create and manage detailed costing spreadsheets.
• Ability to read, interpret and analyse PDF drawings, layouts and project documentation.
• Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Well-organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Proactive, customer-focused approach and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Beneficial Experience with Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) systems.
• Knowledge of Sensormatic Solutions products and technologies.
• Experience using Sales & Install (SAI) estimation software.
• Experience with Bluebeam Revu for drawing review and mark-ups.
• Familiarity with CCTV system design and estimation.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD (ACAD).
• Experience within retail security, low-voltage systems or electronic security industries.
