Finance Manager in Leeds

LS12 | Full-time | Office-based | Up to £55,000 | On-site parking

YDS Group is growing fast – and we’re not slowing down. With 10 companies in the group and plans to double in size again, we’re looking for a hands‑on Finance Manager who thrives in a high‑growth, change‑heavy environment and wants real exposure and impact.

This is not a sit‑back role. It’s for a do‑er, problem solver, and can‑do finance leader who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, improving how things work, and developing a team along the way.

The Role

Reporting into the Head of Finance and working closely with the CFO, you’ll lead a team of 5 management and assistant accountants, owning month‑end, cash flow, and group reporting across 10 companies.

You’ll be trusted to run the engine room of finance while also pushing improvements, challenging constructively, and helping scale the function as the business grows.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Leading, coaching, and developing a team of 5 (regular 1‑2‑1s and clear development plans)
• Owning month‑end close and management accounts across the group
• Producing cash flow forecasts and actively managing working capital
• Planning and prioritising daily workloads in a busy, office‑based environment
• Working collaboratively with – and constructively pushing – the CFO
• Supporting and improving transactional finance processes
• Driving automation and smarter ways of working
• Owning Xero across the group and supporting a future system change

What We’re Looking For

• Fully qualified ACCA or CIMA
• Proven Finance Manager or Senior Management Accountant experience in a fast‑moving, multi‑entity business
• Strong people manager who enjoys coaching and developing others
• Hands‑on, proactive, and solutions‑focused
• Comfortable in a growing, sometimes chaotic environment
• Confident dealing with senior stakeholders and happy to challenge when needed
• Systems‑minded, with experience improving or automating finance processes
