This is a newly defined, operational role at the heart of our behaviour provision. The Behaviour and Engagement Manager takes direct, day‑to‑day responsibility for our Reflection Room — the designated space for pupils on Internal Suspension and those removed from lessons — delivers structured behaviour interventions with our most challenging pupils, and investigates serious incidents.
The postholder also line‑manages our newly created Behaviour Mentor, who provides in‑room support to pupils in the Reflection Room. The role has been designed with clarity of purpose in mind. You will not be expected to supervise pupils and investigate incidents at the same time. Protected time is built into the daily structure so that you can do each task properly.
You will work in close partnership with our Heads of Year and Heads of Key Stage, but with a distinct operational remit that is yours to own. This is not a teaching role, and curriculum delivery is not part of it. What it does require is the ability to build authoritative, positive relationships with young people, a commitment to helping those pupils access and engage with learning, and the resilience and professionalism to work in a demanding environment.
Yavneh College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure, satisfactory references, and pre‑employment checks in accordance with statutory guidance.
