Discover a new kind of career in healthcare as a functional specialist Are you working in healthcare, and looking for a change? If you’re a nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD), occupational therapist, physiotherapist, or paramedic, you could use your skills differently as an Assessment Specialist. Our client provides unbiased, comprehensive assessments for claimants of the Government’s disability allowance (Personal Independence Payment), conducted over the phone, via video call, or in person at assessment centres or in claimants’ homes. We’re looking for compassionate individuals with experience in understanding health conditions/disabilities and their impacts, combined with strong computer skills, impartiality, and excellent time management. Day to Day You will conduct initial reviews, paper-based assessments, and face-to-face, video, or telephone assessments to evaluate how a claimant’s health condition or disability affects their daily life. Our client\’s hybrid model allows you to work remotely from home and be assigned to work at your nearest assessment centre on a rota basis for face-to-face assessments. Additional time will be spent at centres or office locations for team meetings or training sessions. You will observe and report on an individual’s ability to perform activities, analyzing and interpreting clinical information and supporting evidence. You will produce three comprehensive reports of 3,000-4,000 words each day, providing detailed evidence and justification to support DWP decision-making. Our Offer This challenging role differs from other healthcare professions, and our client invests in your training and development. You’ll start with a 5-week training program (Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm) including time for self-development. During the first six months, close mentorship will support your ongoing development. The starting salary is £38,500 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) plus a 5% retention bonus. Upon achieving remote-approved status, salary increases to £39,900 plus up to 10% bonus. Achieving face-to-face delivery increases salary to £41,500 plus up to 10% bonus. Your Requirements At least one year of post-registration experience as a nurse, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, or paramedic Full registration with a relevant UK regulatory body (NMC, HCPC, or other), without restrictions or conditions, and with a valid PIN Excellent observational and communication skills, with the ability to listen, empathize, and probe deeper Typing speed of at least 30 words per minute Proven experience with IT and Microsoft Office, including remote system access such as MS Teams #J-18808-Ljbffr
