Summary
The Senior HSE Advisor is responsible for developing, leading, and improving HSE programs across the organisation. In addition to core compliance duties, this role involves designing risk mitigation strategies, providing expert guidance to management, and mentoring less experienced team members.

What You\’ll Do:
- Develop and implement robust procedures and risk mitigation plans tailored to operational needs.
- Advise management and operational teams on all aspects of HSE compliance and performance.
- Conduct and oversee complex incident investigations and ensure effective closure of corrective actions.
- Focus on specialist areas (e.g., PUWER, LOLER, Electrical Safety, Environmental Compliance, Industrial Hygiene and Chemical Management) and lead relevant programs.
- Support and mentor junior members in their professional development.
- Deliver advanced HSE training and awareness sessions to all levels of staff.
- Lead or coordinate internal and external audits and inspections.
- Analyse data trends and prepare comprehensive HSE performance reports.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation, standards, and best practices to ensure continuous improvement.
- Assist in developing strategic HSE objectives and contribute to company-wide initiatives.
- Ensure effective communication and engagement with regulators, clients, and other stakeholders as needed.
To succeed in this role, we believe you\’ll need:
- BScs degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Sciences or a related field.
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent professional qualification) preferred.
- Considerable experience working in a Health & Safety orientated role
- A good knowledge and experience of 5s and safety auditing.
- Experience in conducting accident/incident 8D investigations
- Ability to understand industrial processes and analyse complex data.
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), good collaboration skills, and the ability to work effectively across teams
- Demonstrable knowledge of UK HSE legislation in all relevant areas for a manufacturing company.
Though not expected, it would be very beneficial if you have:
- Manufacturing/R&D environment experienceor in a high-risk/complex environment.
- A deep understanding of legal requirements, standards, and codes of practice.
