About the role
- The PLM Analyst will define and lead the development and deployment of our Siemens NX CAD and PLM systems as well as looking after our legacy systems
What you'll do
- Day-to-day management of the Siemens NX CAD and PLM system, for the mechanical, controller, and manufacturing databases.
- Conduct code reviews and raising the overall technical capability of the team.
- Acting as the Subject Matter Expert, leading engineers in the application of core CAD and PLM tools to ensure a high level of data quality and user proficiency is achieved.
- Delivery of user guidance, online and instructor-led training to achieve best practices in the use of the systems.
- Generation of procedures and work instructions to assist in the use of our systems.
- Develop functional and non-functional requirements to drive the delivery of new, or to improve existing PLM and CAD processes and tools.
- Lead the development, testing, and final deployment of any new or enhanced tools to ensure PLM and CAD requirements are met.
- Maintenance of legacy CAD and PDM data within the SolidWorks environment.
- Support IT in defining hardware and software upgrades and testing.
- Liaise with 3rd party vendors and partners to resolve issues.
- Research and maintain a good knowledge of the latest PLM/CAD technologies and tools.
Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of specialised experience; proven track record of project ownership.
- You will need a good fundamental understanding of the PLM system, in an automotive background, (or similar) and data management.
- Experience using Teamcenter B.M.I.D.E and I.T.K. Workflow design, attribute mapping and knowledge of Siemens AWC.
- Experience setting up dispatcher and resolving workflow issues
- A good fundamental understanding of CAD systems, (preferably NX) system operation and the engineering design process.
- Experienced in delivering user support, creation of guidance documentation, and delivery of training.
- Skilled in project planning, system testing, and data migration.
- Good communication skills, and stakeholder management. You will have demonstrable experience of delivering a clear message to audiences at all levels of seniority.
- Detailed working knowledge of system workflows and business processes, such as CAD release, BOM structures, change management, etc.
- The ability to specify system-related hardware such as CAD stations, servers etc. would be advantageous.
- Analytical by nature with a good attention to detail, ability distil user needs into requirements, and capable of prioritising work backlog.
